1867 Set of handwritten documents between... - Lot 31 - Lynda Trouvé
1867 Set of handwritten documents between Admiral de la Grandière, governor of Cochinchine and the Minister of Colonies for the annexation of the three provinces of Vinh-Long, Chaudoc and Hatien. In 1867 the Governor of Cochinchine annexed, under duress, the three provinces of Vinh-Long, Chaudoc and Hatien and substituted the domination of France for that of the Kingdom of Annam. He justified the annexation by the non-respect of the 1862 treaty, by provocations, permanent insurrection, blockades and looting by military leaders invested by the Annamite government of Emperor Tu Duc. These annexations, decided unilaterally by Vice-Admiral de la Grandière, were not ordered by Paris and caused great concern to the French Government. It should be noted that the mail arrived in Saigon after a month's journey. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of the Navy and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated 18 February 1867. 6 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated March 14, 1867. 2 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated April 15, 1867. 5 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated May 16, 1867. 2 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated June 10, 1867. 3 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated June 18, 1867. 2 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouilly dated June 18, 1867. 2 pages handwritten and signed. - A copy of a letter from the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, written by Rigault de Genouil
