TOULET (Paul-Jean). Half a widow. Paris,... - Lot 34 - Lynda Trouvé
TOULET (Paul-Jean). Half a widow. Paris, Mericant, sd [c. 1905]. In-8 half calf parma framed, covers in white lambskin-velvet with mosaic of parma calf dots and framed by two fillets, gilt and silver, smooth spine, gilt head, illustrated cover and spine preserved (P.L. Martin). Under rhodoïd. Spine slightly faded. First edition (of which no large paper was printed), illustrated with 28 hors texte compositions by the painter Louis Marie Émile Blanchard, known as Florane, announced on the title (whereas the cover indicates only 26). Novel written in collaboration with Maurice Edmond Saillant, known as Curnonsky, published in serial form in La Vie Parisienne, under the collective pseudonym of Perdiccas, then in volume form under the sole name of Curnonsky, because of the libertine illustrations which displeased Toulet. Also by the same author: Lettres à soi-même. Paris, Le Divan, 1927. In-12 lemon half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed, black title page, cover and spine preserved (P.L. Martin). First edition. One of 800 copies on alfa bouffant. Second work of the collection "Les Soirées du Divan". Beautiful set of 2 volumes by P.-J. Toulet bound by Pierre-Lucien Martin.
