BRUNO The game of the pan Paris, printed... - Lot 311 - Lynda Trouvé
BRUNO The game of the pan Paris, printed by Munier, signed and dated 1905. Dimensions : 69 x 55 cm Marketed since 1905, the "Jeu de la casserole" is an anti-masonic game in thirty-three squares, illustrated with caricatures. The title is inspired by the "Affair of the pots" or "Affair of the cards" of the beginning of the XXth century. The central character is the President of the Council, Emile Combes, a Freemason and the inspiration for the 1905 law on the separation of Church and State. His government was scandalized by the registration of openly anti-republican officers, made possible by information transmitted by Freemasons to the Minister of War, General André. The Combes government had to resign in January 1905.
