Lot including: - A slope of a brocade processional canopy, probably Lyon, second quarter of the nineteenth century, woven brocade with raspberry silk disposition, blade and metallic gold and silver threads with the mystical Lamb lying on the Book of the Seven Seals in a surround of palms, flowers, vine branches and ears of wheat. Gold system braids on the perimeter, fringe of cannetille on the bottom. Dimensions: 46x180 cm (Some stains and wear). Provenance: private and personal collection of Mr. Bernard Pansu. - A slope of bed in a naturalist lampas, circa 1730-1740, lampas shaped polychrome silk green satin background decorated with flowering pomegranates and waterfall topped by a gnarled tree and a bird. Green taffeta piping around the edges, linen lining. Size: 42x140 cm Provenance : private and personal collection of Mr. Bernard Pansu. Private and personal collection of textiles from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries of Mr. Bernard Pansu, President of the manufacture weavings of the Lys in Halluin, third generation at the helm. Passionate collector of textiles from the Renaissance to the Second Empire, Bernard Pansu has been lulled since his youngest age in the universe of furnishing textiles. Indeed, the PANSU factory, created by his great-grandfather Jules Pansu in 1878, is renowned for its tapestries made by the best workers in France, and still traditionally woven in Halluin in Flanders. The ensemble presented at the sale is mainly made up of silk fabrics from court dresses, liturgical ornaments, seat upholstery and hangings. These archival documents of all sizes, glued on cardboard for the most part, represented for the textile factories a sort of library offering an infinite variety of patterns and colors serving as inspiration for the designers and weavers for their creations. For the curious, the more than 300 documents offered form a complete panorama of the history of taste for interior decoration and fashion over nearly 500 years.
