Presented for the first time at auction, this original work was reproduced in Extrême-Asie magazine, no. 08, February 1927. It bears witness to the illustrative talents of the artist, who later co-founded the École des Beaux Arts d'Indochine with Victor Tardieu. Testifying to his great ability to capture everyday life, this sketch depicts the diversity of the small street trades of the time.
