Polychrome enameled porcelain vase.
Of lantern form, the decoration depicts a rocky landscape with a dignitary and his three servants (two of whom each carry a large peacock feather fan) facing a man saluting him, an elephant behind him, on a mauve-pink background incised in graviata with a motif of flowering scrolls. The turquoise-enameled base bears an apocryphal Qianlong sigillary mark in blue underglaze.
China, Republic period (1911-1949).
Height: 40 cm.
(Star-shaped crack at the base, restoration to the lip).
