An important pair of blue-white porcelain aquariums decorate - Lot 178
An important pair of blue-white porcelain aquariums decorated with lacustrine landscapes, one resting on a base decorated with lion protuberances and ormolu claw feet, the other on a simple wooden base. The body is adorned with two handles in the shape of chimera heads, the shoulder encircled by a frieze of Greciques between two iron-red edgings. The rim of the neck is decorated with latticework and florets set off by poly-lobed reserves featuring flowers and birds. China, 18th century. Height: 40 cm. Diameter: 60 cm. (Cracks). Provenance: Private collection from the Maison Denis frères.
