1909-1918. HENRI PARMENTIER (1870-1949). Inventaire descriptif des monuments Cams de l'Annam, Planches d'après les dessins de l'auteur,Ernest Leroux éditeur. Paris 1909. Very rare set of two slipcases (Volume XI Bis and Volume XII bis): the first (Volume XI bis) containing a 17-page booklet (warning and table of plates) and 114 plates, including 42 fold-outs and 7 color fold-out archaeological maps. All 114 plates complete, although numbers 11, 20, 49, 67, 98 and 112 have been replaced by copies. Publications de l'Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient, volume XI bis, inventaire archéologique de l'Indochine. The second volume (Volume XII bis) is the complement to the previous volume, published in 1918, complete with its 68 original plates, also presented in their slipcase. A gigantic, magnificent work, reminding us that Parmentier studied Fine Arts and graduated as an architect before devoting himself to archaeology, in particular the Cham monuments of Indochina. An extremely rare set, presented for the first time at auction with its complement. Not listed in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. Dimensions: 19.5 x 28.5 cm.
