REIGN OF H.M. EMPEROR TU DUC (1847-1883). Large thank-you embroidery in red silk, the border in green silk decorated with Baixijiang (beneficial Buddhist emblems). The central part is embellished with a large gold and blue calligraphic text encircled by a frieze of grecques. The whole bearing the inscription 嗣德贰拾捌年玖月吉日i.e. "auspicious day of the 9th month of the 28th year of Tu Duc" corresponding to the year 1875-1876. The blue calligraphy shows a list of high-ranking officials, including Fan Youlang, governor of Liren province, Chen Wenyu, prefect of Changxin, and others. The text ends with the character 賀 meaning "congratulations". Dimensions: 211x185.5 cm. (Accidents).
