Chased gilt bronze "La maternité" clock depicting the Duches - Lot 135
Chased gilt bronze "La maternité" clock depicting the Duchesse de Berry breast-feeding the Duc de Bordeaux, with her daughter Louise praying in front of the bassinet. The bronze dial shows the hours in Roman numerals and forms the pediment of an architectural motif decorated with drapery and swans, the caryatid uprights surmounted by Egyptian heads. It stands on an arched base decorated with garlands, flowers and profiles in medallions, and finished with tapered legs.
