Syamatara. China. 18th-19th century. Gilded copper alloy. The green Tara is seated in royal ease on a lotus throne. She makes the gesture of giving with her right hand and teaching with her left. She is richly adorned with turquoise-encrusted necklaces, bracelets and tiara. Height: 17.4 cm. (Worn gilding on back).
