Syamatara, Tibet, 15th-16th century. Gilded copper alloy, turquoise. The green Tara is seated in royal ease on a lotus throne. She makes the gesture of giving with her right hand, holds a lotus stem and makes the gesture of teaching with her left hand. She is richly adorned with a turquoise-encrusted necklace, bracelets, belt and tiara. A small lotus supports her right foot. Height: 16.2 cm. (Nice thick gilding, visible wear).
