1912-1942 Set of envelopes, photographs, plans and stamps concerning Mr. Henri Chabot, an engineer who graduated from the Ecole Centrale around 1894, Director of the Trang-Da mines in Tuyen-Quang (Tonkin) from 1912 and in the 1920s, Director of the Etains et Wolfram du Tonkin company in Tinh-Tuc (Cao-Bang territory) in the early 1930s, then of the Cammon mines in Boneng (Laos). Died in July 1942. A philatelic enthusiast - as evidenced by a few dust jackets from the magazine l'Echo de la timbrologie to which he subscribed - the family has carefully preserved stamped envelopes and letters, enabling us to retrace the career of this administrator today. - Large lot of stamped envelopes, stamps from Hanoi, Dap-Cau (Tonkin) Lang-Son, Tam-Ky (Annam) Nguyen-Binh, Tuyen Quang, Tinh-Tuc, Doson, Cao-Bang. Boneng (Laos), numerous registered mail, headed envelopes: Denis Frères, Poinsard & Veyret, Descours & Cabaud, Compagnie française d'explosifs en Extrême-Orient, Banque de l'Indochine.... - A few cotton envelopes with red wax seals. - A photographic portrait of Mr. Chabot by the HUONG KY studio. (Dimensions: 14.7x10.3 cm) - Two photographs mounted on cardboard by studio VAN XUAN photographe artistique 28 rue des Pipes à Hanoï (Citroën C4 decorated with flowers probably for a wedding and a church. Size of prints: 15.5x11.3 cm). A set of albumen prints and 12 cardboard-mounted prints of Henri Chabot's family in Tonkin, circa 1921-1922. - A family photographic portrait framed under glass. On the back, framer's label Nguyen-Huy-Quang 73 Borgais Desbordes , Hanoi. - Two postcards. One from the Passignat collection (Chinese Missionaries and Reformers) and one of the ruins of Angkor. - A few loose stamps - 6 surveys (including tracings of the Lux concession of the Compagnie fermière des étains d'Extrême-Orient and surface plans of the Bong-Mieu gold mines). Also included: Several typescripts from Banque Mirabaud & Cie 56 rue de Provence, Paris, notably concerning shares in the Société des distilleries d'Indochine held by Mr. Chabot.
