1931. INDOCHINA. Set of 5 bronze medals titled with the 3 French provinces (Tonkin, Annam, Cochinchine), the Kingdom of Laos and the Protectorate of Cambodia. S.d. and unsigned. Probably based on models created for the Exposition Coloniale in 1931. - ANNAM EMPIRE. Medal featuring the Annam dragon in the clouds and on the reverse a mandarin around which two dragons clash. - TONKIN. Medal featuring a phoenix and on the reverse a young northern woman in front of a perfume burner. Marked bronze and cornucopia. - COCHINCHINE. Medal featuring a palanche carrier and a tiger's head on the reverse. Marked bronze and horn of plenty. - LAOS: Medal featuring a three-headed elephant and a couple of dancers and musicians on the reverse. - KINGDOM OF CAMBODIA. Medal featuring a 7-headed Naga snake and on the reverse a Khmer figure seated on a throne. Diameter: 5.8 cm. Very fine condition.
