REIGN OF S.M. EMPEROR MINH MANG (1820-1841).
An unusual teapot in polychrome "phap lam" enamels on copper, decorated with peonies, grapes, grapefruits and gourds on a turquoise-blue ground. The swollen, gadrooned body and lid are decorated with lotus petals in the style of Daoguang porcelain. The pouring spout is decorated with blue enameled chilongs surrounded by a gold border, the upper part adorned with a U-shaped handle.
