REIGN OF S.M. EMPEROR KHAI DINH (1916-1925). Rectangular imperial decree box in red and gold lacquered wood. The openwork lid with phoenix and Fô dogs reveals a receptacle with mottled walls imitating a panther skin. The high-relief handle features two dragons hunting the sacred pearl. The entablature is decorated with a carved Annam dragon. Indochina, early 20th century. Height: 28 cm. Length: 51 cm. Width: 13.5 cm.
