Reunion of two traditional "mamianqun" skirts in cotton and silk with damask and embroidered borders of flowers, gourds, pampers and lake scenes in reserves. The garment is pleated, with black vertical friezes ending in stylized ruyis. Height: 79 cm. Width: 134.5 cm. Also included: - A pair of burgundy lacquered wooden pedestals with a polychrome motif of flowers and foliage, the end fitted with a leather strap. South China, late 19th century. (Accidents, tears, missing parts and insolations). Provenance: Georges Jacquolot, working for the Indochina customs service. In the family by descent.
