China for Vietnam, 19th century Hexagonal water pot in blue-white porcelain known as Bleu de Hue, decorated with the "Three Friends of Winter" (pine, bamboo and prunus) on three sides and poems on the other three, later addition of a bronze openwork lid with a Buddhist lion-shaped grip (probably from a perfume burner), a label on the base "Collection Nguyen Cang, Paris". Length: 8.9 cm. Height: 7 cm (excluding added lid). Missing rim or lip (damaged then smoothed), long crack (through the base and two sides). Expert: Léonore de Magnée.
