IMPERIAL PRESENT CIGARETTES CASE GIVEN TO ARTIST OSSIP ZADKINE (1888-1967) in 14K (585°/°°) solid gold titled 56 zolotnik, of rectangular shape with oval cross-section, hinged by a socket set with a sapphire cabochon, applied in the upper left corner with the double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire in gold set with twenty-four rose-cut diamonds. It is preserved in its original rectangular cutaway presentation case lined with burgundy leather and stamped with the double-headed eagle of the Russian Empire in gilded metal. The interior, lined with velvet and cream silk velvet, bears a label with the recipient's handwritten name in Latin, and the words "Du Cabinet de Sa Majesté Impériale" printed in Cyrillic. Work of Alexander KARPOV, Saint Petersburg, 1899-1908. Height: 6 cm. Width: 9.5 cm. Thickness: 1.5 cm. Gross weight: 103.5 g. (Worn inside and out, cigarette case in good condition).
