A Jura-born painter with a passion for mountain landscapes, Guy Bardone trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lyon from 1942, then at the Arts Décoratifs from 1945. There, he studied under François DESNOYER (1894-1972), Jules CAVAILLES (1901-1977) and above all Maurice BRIANCHON (1899-1979), from whom he drew the aesthetic lesson of flattening and layering space.
