Triangular honorary pennant made of embroidered yellow silk, - Lot 78
Triangular honorary pennant made of embroidered yellow silk, edged with gold fringe. The banner’s background features three horizontal red stripes—the historic emblem of Annam—adorned with a magnificent double-dragon motif embroidered in blue and silver thread, the imperial symbol of the Nguyễn dynasty. On either side, inscriptions in Vietnamese are embroidered in blue thread on the silk: BAO-CHINH-ĐOÀN NAM-ĐỊNH DANH-DỰ “Flag of Honor of the Nam Định Provincial Security Corps.” This is a commemorative military pennant dating from the French Indochina period, attributed to the police and territorial security forces of Nam Định Province (Tonkin). Indochina, mid-20th century. Height: 25.5 cm. Maximum length: 45 cm. (Signs of wear, a few small tears in the fringes and silk).
