Collection Albert Sallet (1877-1948). Military doctor in Indochina. Co-founder in 1913 of the Association of the Friends of Old Hué with Léopold Cadière, of the Foreign Missions of Paris. Corresponding member of the French School of the Far East. After leaving the Army, he became curator of the Cham Art Museum in Tourane until 1931, following Parmentier, then curator of the Georges-Labit Museum in Toulouse. Important set of more than 400 glass plates including stereoscopic plates in 25 boxes retracing the life of Albert Sallet in Indochina, from his landing in Tonkin in 1903, his installation in Annam from 1907 until 1930. Albert Sallet will lead many scientific missions. Tonkin, Tourane, visit of H.M. the Emperor Tu Duc in Tourane in 1908, Hanoi, Haïphong, Hué: tombs and Cham vestiges, Angkor, funeral of H.M. Kai-Dinh, collection of talismans within the framework of his research on the conjuratory magic... (most of the plates are captioned). The booklet of his publications as of October 1, 1930 (ethnography, history, natural sciences and medicine) is attached.
