Rinchen daru in steel and metals. Composed of a file and a steel rod inlaid with the five precious metals (iron, copper, pewter, gold and silver) symbolizing the components of all living beings. Used in blessing and consecration ceremonies, the file is passed over the blade to produce shavings of the five sacred metals which are sprinkled on religious images or on the deceased to animate them. Tibet, 18th-19th century. Height: 18,5 cm.
