Suite of 4 Vietnamese paintings from the 19th century. India ink on paper decorated with Four noble plants (also called Four Gentlemen): orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum tree. Each drawing is accompanied by a literary text in ideograms with an artist's stamp in the form of a leaf: 1. People do not know the real happiness is the imitation of youthful acts (the orchid) ; 2.
