Phi Hô. School of Fine Arts of Indochina. Instruments used for usual medicines: medicine plane, wheel crusher, medicine chopper, copper mortar, medicine scale. Set of eight watercolors on paper in three frames signed, captioned in Vietnamese and French, some with inventory numbers. Dimensions with frame: 39x85,5 cm and 40x60 cm. (A few small spots). Reproduced in black and white in Albert Sallet's book "Officine sino-annamite en Annam - Le médecin annamite et la préparation des remèdes." Ed. Van Oest, 1931. Provenance: Albert Sallet collection (1877-1948). Military doctor in Indochina. Co-founder in 1913 of the Association of the Friends of Old Hué with Léopold Cadière, of the Paris Foreign Missions. Corresponding member of the French School of the Far East. After leaving the army, he became curator of the Tourane Museum of Cham Art until 1931, then curator of the Georges-Labit Museum in Toulouse.
