(Cracks and missing parts) Born in 1919, Pham Dinh Tin graduated from EBAI in 1944. He then left the North to found his studio in Gia Dinh, in parallel with a teaching career that he pursued in several high schools in Dalat and Saigon. A recognized painter during his lifetime, he held a prominent place at the Indochina painting exhibition organized in the Saigon Opera House in 1950; several individual exhibitions were subsequently devoted to him. Initially versatile and turned to lacquer, silk and watercolor, the artist specialized in oil painting. His lacquered works are more likely to be from the period before 1951.
